Chief Mrs. Toyin Omole to Set New Standards in Representation for Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu

Chief Mrs. Toyin Omole says she is poised to redefine legislative representation in Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency if elected, promising a blend of grassroots engagement, accountability, and development-focused leadership.
Speaking during consultations with party stakeholders recently, Omole said the constituency has for too long been defined by unfulfilled promises and disconnect between representatives and the people.

“My vision is to set a new standard of representation where the people are not only heard but actively involved in the decisions that affect their lives,” she said. “Kabba, Bunu, and Ijumu deserve a voice that delivers results, not rhetoric.”
Omole outlined her priorities to include sustained investment in education, accessible healthcare, water infrastructure, and small business support. She pointed to her existing philanthropic track record across the three local government areas as a blueprint for what she intends to scale up through legislative backing.
“Representation should not start and end at the chambers. It should be visible in classrooms, clinics, markets, and farmlands,” she added.
Party leaders who attended the meeting described Omole’s approach as “fresh and inclusive,” noting that her acceptability across Kabba, Bunu, and Ijumu could help bridge long-standing sectional divides. A Chieftain of the APC from Ijumu said Omole’s emphasis on youth and women empowerment would energize the party’s base ahead of the primaries.
Political analysts in Kogi West say the Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu seat remains strategic for the All Progressives Congress (APC), and that fielding a candidate with strong grassroots equity could help the party break its losing streak in the constituency since 2015.
Chief Mrs. Omole, a businesswoman and community leader, has been recognized for scholarships to indigent students, borehole projects, medical outreaches, and grants to market women. She is yet to formally declare her candidacy but has been holding wide consultations with traditional rulers, youth groups, and party structures.
“We are not asking for loyalty without accountability,” Omole said. “I will be a representative who returns home, reports back, and ensures that federal presence is felt at the ward level.”
The APC is expected to hold its primaries for the Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu seat in the coming months.
