Chief Ogwu Strengthens Security In Kogi With NSCDC Outpost
Chief Ogwu Onoja SAN, the Agenyi Attah of the Igala Kingdom, has taken a significant step to improve security in the Ofante community by establishing and equipping a Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) outpost.
The facility, inaugurated on December 26 by Rt Hon. Ahmed Mohammed, the Zonal Security Adviser to the Kogi State Governor, is expected to strengthen local security measures in the region.
According to Ahmed,This initiative addresses longstanding security concerns in the Ankpa, Omala, and Olamaboro federal constituencies.
Chief Onoja donated a fully furnished office, residential quarters, modern communication equipment, and a vehicle to enhance the NSCDC’s operations.
Speaking at the event, Chief Onoja emphasized the importance of collaboration among security agencies, including the police and local protection councils, to ensure a comprehensive security framework.
“This is a call to all stakeholders to support these efforts rather than criticize them. Our community’s safety is paramount,” he said.
On his part,the state commandant of the NSCDC, represented by ACC Sylvester Idakwoji and SC Edibo Yusuf Hassan, commended Onoja’s contributions, describing them as timely and impactful.
“The provision of vehicles and communication tools, they noted, would significantly enhance crime prevention and the mobility of security personnel.
Also at the inauguration,Local leaders also praised Onoja’s philanthropy. Chief Paul Ibrahim, the Okpaleko of Ofante, hailed him as a trailblazer in the Ogugu Kingdom, citing his initiatives in water provision, road maintenance, and education.
“This new outpost ensures that criminals will have no hiding place in our state,” he added.
Chiefs Deacon Samuel Agada and Mathias Idoko also lauded Onoja’s efforts, calling him a pillar of the community. They described the security outpost as a milestone in improving the safety and well-being of Ofante’s residents.
