Commendations and Praises: As Prof. Atu Evacuates Stranded Students from University of Jos.
After the Palm Sunday’s attacked at Angwan Rukuba,In Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State,where about 28 people loss their lives and several others sustained injuries.
You will recall that the Plateau State Governor, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, declared 48 hours curfew in Jos North Local Government Area.
Having reviewed the security situation in the area,the curfew was reviewed from 7am to 3pm.
After the relaxation of the curfew, hoodlums in some areas such as Nasarawa Gwong,Bauchi Road,Farin Gada, University of Jos Permanent Site began to smash vehicles and attack innocent citizens, including the Students of the University of Jos.
Before the unfortunate incident,the Students of the University were writing their first Semester examination
The Management of the Institution have already postponed the examination.
Students were stranded and apprehensive in their hostels.
In his magnanimity and spirit of assistance, Prof Danladi Abok Atu,the former Chairman of Jos North and former SSG of Plateau State and now Aspiring for Senatorial position to represent Plateau Northern Senatorial District,swung into action and sent vehicles to evacuate the students to safe destinations.
Various students bodies and parents alike were seeing sending their best wishes to the Philanthropist.
They equally pray for his success at the forthcoming General election to represent the Zone.
