COMMISSIONING OF ODO-APE DAM PROJECT: KOGI STATE GOVERNOR APPLAUDS FG

The Governor of Kogi State, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, has applauded the gesture of the Federal Government of Nigeria, for the laudable Dam project situated in Odo-Ape Bunu.

This was contained in a message on Wednesday, 28th Feb, 2024 when the Honourable Minister for Water Resources and Sanitation, Professor Joseph Utsev, visited Odo-Ape Bunu, in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area for the commissioning of the Dam project which was awarded to the good people of Kogi State by the federal government.

The governor who was represented by Kogi State Security Adviser, Retired Commander Jerry Omodara, expressed Gov. Ododo’s deepest commendation to President Tinubu for his commitment towards revamping the agricultural sector of the Nation.

Gov. Ododo stated that the dam will improve dry season farming in the state, noting that his administration will look into the areas of sustainable farm inputs, and availability of more tractors to farmers in Kogi State to enable them boost agriculture in the state.

The governor stressed that Kogi State Government under his leadership, will encourage investors in the agricultural sectors to establish processing plants in the state to provide employment and also make the people of the state key players in the agricultural value chain in the state.

He equally said that Kogi State is endowed with arable land and will work closely with farmers in the State to produce enough to feed the people of the State and export to other states.
According to him, we must produce what we eat and eat what we produce. We will provide the necessary security for our farmers to work and produce food for us. He stated.

On a final note, the governor urged Nigerians, and particularly Kogites not to withdraw their support in the actualization of the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The event also have in attendance; Professor Joseph Utsev, Honourable Minister for Water Resource and Sanitation, Engr Yahya Farouk, Commissioner for Water Resource, Kogi State, Hon. Wemi Jones, Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Kogi State, Hon Sunday Faleke, Commissioner for Special Duties and Inter Governmental Relations, Hon. Seyi Bello, Member State House of Assembly, Kabba/Bunu LG, Hon (Barr) Zaccheous Dare Micheal, Kabba/Bunu Caretaker Chairman, among other personalities.
