It is with great joy, deep respect, and heartfelt admiration that I, Distinguished Senator Garba Musa Maidoki, Senator Representing Kebbi South Senatorial District, extend my warmest congratulations to His Royal Highness, Alhaji Sanusi Mika’ilu Sami, on his well-deserved appointment as the Emir of Zuru, officially conferred on August 28, 2025, by the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, Dr. Nasir Idris, following the recommendation of the esteemed Emirship Election Committee.

Your Royal Highness, your emergence as Sami Gomo III is not only historic but symbolic of continuity, legitimacy, and the collective aspiration of the great people of the Zuru Emirate. The fact that you secured seven out of nine votes from the traditional kingmakers is a strong testament to the trust, confidence, and respect you command within the royal institution and among the grassroots.

I commend the transparent and peaceful process led by the Emirship Election Committee and the official presentation of your appointment letter by the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs. This demonstrates the State Government’s unwavering commitment to tradition, justice, and the will of the people.

Your Royal Highness, your lineage speaks volumes. As the grandson of a revered former Emir and nephew to the late Emir Muhammadu Sani Sami Gomo II, your ascendancy is a powerful reminder of the enduring values of royal service, community leadership, and cultural preservation that define the Zuru Emirate.

Your personal journey—from your early days as a dedicated nurse serving at General Hospitals in Zuru and Yauri, to your eventual leadership as Head of the College Clinic at the College of Agriculture, Zuru (now Federal University of Agriculture)—is both inspiring and exemplary. Your service in the health sector earned you a reputation as a humble, hardworking, and compassionate leader, a sentiment deeply echoed by the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives.

Beyond public service, your transition into the business world—as Chairman of Tencent Technology Ltd and Sino Gold Fortunes Nigeria Ltd, and founder of Green Circle Nigeria Ltd—further reflects your versatility, vision, and capacity to lead with innovation and foresight.

Your Royal Highness, your appointment has not only satisfied the traditional protocols but also resonates with the popular will of the Zuru people. It is my belief that your reign will usher in a new era of unity, peace, and progress for the Emirate, as you lead with wisdom, dignity, and divine guidance.

As you ascend this exalted throne, I encourage you to emulate the noble legacy of your predecessor, His Royal Highness, Late Emir Muhammadu Sani Sami Gomo II, a retired Major General, former Military Administrator of Bauchi State, and an exceptional traditional ruler who was widely respected for promoting peace, cultural heritage, and socio-economic development within and beyond the Zuru Emirate.

May Allah (SWT) grant you the strength, wisdom, and health to carry out your duties with honour, humility, and unwavering commitment to justice. May your leadership unite all sons and daughters of the Emirate across ethnic, religious, and political divides.

On behalf of myself, my family, and the good people of Kebbi South Senatorial District, I once again congratulate His Royal Highness, Alhaji Sanusi Mika’ilu Sami, Emir Sami Gomo III, and pray for a peaceful and prosperous reign.

Long live the Emirate!
Long live Kebbi State!
Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!

Signed:
Senator Garba Musa Maidoki
Distinguished Senator, Kebbi South Senatorial District
