CUSTECH Osara, KSU Kabba Receives Government Delegation on Needs Assessment

Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, and Kogi State University (KSU), Kabba, recently received a government delegation led by Dr. Bashir Sezuo Tenuche, Director General of Kogi State Information Communication Technology Development Agency (KICTDA). The delegation’s visit was aimed at assessing the institutions’ needs, particularly in the areas of ICT development and infrastructure.

Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu, Vice Chancellor of CUSTECH, warmly welcomed the team and expressed his appreciation for Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s commitment to enhancing the learning standards of the institution. The VC highlighted the importance of the needs assessment tour, emphasizing the institution’s requirements for promoting e-learning and ICT development.

During the visit, Mr. Ismaila Adoke, Director of Physical Planning, conducted the team on a tour of the Faculty of Computing and Informatics, University Library, and CUSTECH ICT Lab. He appealed for the provision of ICT infrastructure, alternative energy sources, and equipment for the ICT lab.

Similarly, at KSU Kabba, Prof. Ifatimehin Olanrewaju, representing the VC, alongside the university’s librarian Dr. Mbashir Abdulateef Lanre welcomed the team and emphasized the need for expanded CBT centers and ICT development. He sought government intervention in improving the university’s ICT infrastructure and urged the DG to prioritize the training and retraining of both students and educators.

Dr Bashir Tenuche noted that the government delegation’s visit demonstrates Governor Ododo’s administration’s commitment to education and ICT development in Kogi State. The institutions’ needs assessment will inform strategic investments in infrastructure and technology, enhancing the learning experience and competitiveness of graduates.

“As the government continues to prioritize education and ICT development, the people of Kogi State can expect improved outcomes and opportunities. The delegation’s visit marks a significant step towards achieving this vision, and we look forward to the outcomes and positive impact on the institutions and the state atx large. ”

The government delegation’s visit to CUSTECH Osara and KSU Kabba underscores the administration’s dedication to education and ICT development. We commend Governor Ododo’s commitment to enhancing the learning standards and competitiveness of Kogi State’s institutions
