CUSTECH Pioneer Graduates Mobilized for National Youth Service.

—-As CUSTECH Osara Governing Council Chairman becomes Professor Emeritus

The Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara has achieved another milestone by mobilizing her pioneer set of graduates who were admitted in the 2020/2021 academic session for the Batch C Stream 2 of the compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme.

The statement by the Public Relations Unit of CUSTECH, Osara, said It is also worthy of note that 14 out of the graduating students came out with First Class Honours.

The ecstatic Vice-Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu while speaking in his office in Osara, congratulated the pioneer graduates being the first to be mobilized by CUSTECH Osara for the NYSC programme.

He also charged them to be good ambassadors of the institution as they get to their various orientation camps, pointed out the need for them to distinguish themselves in their service to the nation.

The erudite scholar further attributed this positive development to the hard work and commitment to the Management, staff and students of the university.

The Vice Chancellor also showered praises on the former Governor of Kogi State, Alh. (Dr.) Yahaya Bello (CON) for establishing the university to meet Kogi State’s academic needs.

In the same vein, he commended the Visitor to CUSTECH, the Chief Servant of Kogi State, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo for continuing with the developmental initiatives of the former governor.

He noted that among the various ongoing projects initiated by the governor, which some of them has been completed, the institution has also expanded her degree programs from 11 to 56 degree programmes, including Medicine and Surgery.

The Vice Chancellor encouraged graduates to apply the skills and values learned during their time at CUSTECH, Osara as they embark on their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme.

Below is the Breakdown of the First-Class Graduates and the departments they belonged:

Biochemistry Department: 2
Chemistry Department: 1
Computer Science: 3
Microbiology: 5
Software Engineering: 3

In another development, the Vice-Chancellor Engr. Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu, on behalf of the Management, staff and students of CUSTECH, Osara has extended their hearty congratulations to the Chairman, Governing Council of CUSTECH, Osara, Prof. Olu Obafemi on his conferment as Professor Emeritus of the University of Ilorin.

In a statement signed by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdulrahaman Asipita Salawu stated that, “As the Chairman of our Governing Council, we are immensely proud of your notable and distinguished contributions to the academia. Your leadership and scholarly achievements continue to inspire our entire university community.”
