Declare State of Nigerian roads as one of National concern – Sen. Ohere.

The Senate has been asked to through the Committee on works it will constitute declare the State of Nigerian roads as one of National concern.

Sen. Ohere Sadiku Abubakar, Representing Kogi Central in the Senate made the call while adding his voice to a motion raised at today’s plenary on the need to fix badly affected roads in the country.

Sen. Ohere described the motion as moved to fix badly affected roads in some districts as critical, but said in view of the level of impact it would have on fixing the nation’s roads, wants the Works Committee constituted and should be directed to look at all badly affected roads wholistically in the country.

Sen. Ohere said rather than allowing Members to on a daily basis bring before the floor of the Senate complain over poor roads in their district, said the Committee on Works when constituted would accord similar attention to all roads requiring attention.
