The Minister of Defence, His Excellency Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, CON, mni, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering commitment and numerous interventions aimed at supporting Nigerian students nationwide.

Speaking during the inauguration ceremony of the 2025 National Executive Members of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), held at the Nigerian Air Force Conference Centre in Abuja, the Minister, who also serves as the Grand Patron of the Association, highlighted the pivotal role President Tinubu has played in empowering the youth through education, mentorship, and inclusive policies.

He noted that Nigerian students have continued to benefit immensely from the President’s administration, particularly in areas relating to education, skills development, and student welfare. “Nigerian students remain deeply grateful for Mr. President’s continuous support, guidance, and commitment to shaping their future,” the Minister stated.

Commending the resilience of students throughout the recent NANS election period, the Minister acknowledged the challenges commonly associated with such democratic processes but emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation moving forward. He called on all aggrieved parties to set aside differences and support the newly elected leadership in achieving their outlined goals.

“As a united body, students can overcome any obstacle,” he said, urging all stakeholders to put the collective interest of the student community first.

He concluded his remarks with a message of solidarity, quoting the unifying slogan: “Let us remain united; united we are. Let us stand united, and the mission will be accomplished.”
