Leaders and stakeholders of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta South Senatorial District of Delta State have passed votes of implicit confidence on the state’s Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.

The party leaders, at a crucial meeting held in Warri, on Sunday, said the vote of confidence on the governor stemmed from the giant developmental strides recorded in the nooks and crannies of the state within the first one year of his administration.

The Leaders, including elected and appointed public officers at the state and federal government levels acknowledged the uncommon transformation of the state in all facets by Oborevwori within the short period of one year of his administration.

They described the developmental initiatives of Oborevwori administration in the state as unprecedented.

Member, representing Bomadi State Constituency in state’s House of Assembly, Hon. Preyor Oboro, moved the motion for the passage of the votes of confidence on the governor in appreciation and acknowledgement of the all round development of the state as espoused in his M.O.R.E AGENDA development blueprints.

The motion was seconded by a frontline Isoko leader and a former President of the Isoko Development Union (IDU), Chief Iduh Amadhe.

The motion received thunderous support and backing of all party leaders and stakeholders drawn from the eight local government areas of the senatorial district.

Hon. Preyor in moving the motion eulogised the sterling leadership qualities of Governor Oborevwori and his people-oriented policies and programmes, which he said had set the state on the path of sustainable development.

Hon. Preyor enumerated few of the development initiatives of Governor Oborevwori, which he admitted have endeared him to all Deltans.

Specifically he listed the award of some strategic road projects and fly-overs in Warri and Effurun as well as some ongoing development projects in every parts of state, including the coastal axis of the state as some of the achievements of the governor within one year in office.

The lawmaker assured that Delta South Senatorial District as the bedrock of the PDP in the state remained the solid base for the ruling party and Governor Oborevwori for his re-election bid in 2027.

Hon.Preyor said Governor Oborevwori’s unprecedented record of performance had made his re-election in 2027 a fait accompli.

In moving the motion, Hon. Preyor added, “For the unprecedented and uncommon development strides of our amiable governor in the nooks and crannies of the state, which have been widely acknowledged by all right thinking and reasonable Deltans, I hereby move a motion for an implicit vote of confidence on His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori , our indefatigable and performing governor.”
