Democracy Day: Charity Felicitates with Kogi Women, Calls for Greater Involvement in Governance

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Kogi State on Women and Youths Mobilization, Hon. Charity Ijese, has felicitated with the women of Kogi State on the occasion of 2024 Democracy Day, calling for greater involvement in governance and decision-making processes.

In an exclusive interview on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at the Glass House, Lokoja, Charity praised the contributions of Kogi women to the state’s development, citing their invaluable roles in education, healthcare, and economic empowerment.

Hon. Charity urged women to participate actively in politics and take up leadership positions to drive positive change.

She commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his administration’s efforts to promote gender equality and empower women in the state.

She also praised former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello for setting the standard and reaffirmed her support for the consolidation and continuity of these efforts.

Hon. Charity called on all stakeholders to support the government’s initiatives aimed at promoting women’s inclusion and participation in governance.

“As we celebrate 25 years of democracy, we must recognize the critical role women have played in shaping our state’s progress.

Let us work together to create a more inclusive and equitable society where women’s voices are heard and valued, ”she concluded.
