The ceremony, held amidst thousands of members, dignitaries, and distinguished guests, was presided over by Chief (Hajia) Zuwairat Talatu Kishimi, FCNA, President and Chairman of the Council of ANAN. Chief Kishimi administered the oath of allegiance to Senator Jibrin, formally inducting him into the fellowship.

“By the virtues of the powers conferred on me as the President and Chairman of the Council of this great association, the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), established under Act 76 of 1993 (CAP A 26 LFN, 2004), I hereby admit you into the fellowship of the association,” Chief Kishimi declared. “With this honor, you are entitled to add FCNA to your name. We are proud of your accomplishments and celebrate your exemplary dedication to the profession.”

In addition to the fellowship, Senator Barau I. Jibrin was also presented with a special award recognizing his outstanding leadership as Chairman of the association’s 30th Annual National Conference, a testament to his commitment to the advancement of professional standards and capacity building within the accounting sector.

In his remarks, Senator Jibrin expressed heartfelt gratitude to ANAN for the recognition. He acknowledged the critical role ANAN plays in shaping a world-class financial and accountancy landscape in Nigeria, underscoring the association’s ongoing efforts to promote transparency, integrity, and professionalism across public and private sectors.

“This fellowship is not only a personal honor but a responsibility to continue championing ethical financial practices and to support the growth of our nation’s economic governance,” Senator Jibrin stated. “I am deeply honored to receive this recognition from ANAN, an institution at the forefront of developing a high-class financial and accountancy profession for Nigeria’s sustainable future.”

Established under Act 76 of 1993, ANAN has been instrumental in regulating and developing accountancy standards in Nigeria, empowering thousands of members to deliver quality financial services and contribute meaningfully to national development.
