DISCLAIMER AND PUBLIC NOTICE ON MISREPRESENTATION OF IDENTITY
The Igala Cultural and Development Association (ICDA) wishes to draw the attention of the general public, stakeholders, and all well-meaning members of the Igala nation to the emergence and activities of a group operating under the name Igala Centre for Development Advocacy (ICDA).
It has come to our notice that this group has deliberately adopted the acronym “ICDA,” which is widely recognized and historically associated with the Igala Cultural and Development Association.

In the same vein, the group has also used the Igala Unity House Anyigba as its address. Igala Unity House has served as the National Secretariat of the ICDA since its inception. It is not in dispute that the ICDA is the custodian of that edifice.
This action appears calculated to create confusion, mislead the public, and potentially benefit from the established reputation and credibility of our organization.
We wish to categorically state that the Igala Cultural and Development Association (ICDA) has no affiliation, connection, or relationship whatsoever with the said Igala Centre for Development Advocacy (ICDA). Any claims, statements, activities, or representations made by that group should not, in any way, be attributed to or associated with the Igala Cultural and Development Association (ICDA).
The Igala Cultural and Development Association remains the foremost socio-cultural body dedicated to the unity, progress, and development of the Igala people. Over the years, we have built a reputation anchored on integrity, transparency, and service to our Kingdom. We will not allow this reputation to be undermined by individuals or groups engaging in acts capable of misleading the public.
We therefore urge members of the public, government agencies, partners, Traditional Institutions and the media to exercise due diligence and ensure that all engagements, communications, and collaborations intended for the Igala Cultural and Development Association are properly directed through our verified and official channels.
Furthermore, we are taking appropriate steps to address this matter and protect the identity, integrity, and legal standing of our association.
The public is advised to disregard any unauthorized use of our acronym or any misleading representation by the said group.
We appreciate your continued trust, support, and cooperation.
