Dr. Micheal Oluwalagba Bags Ekinrin-Adde Omo-Atata Award
The Founder, School of Nursing Sciences, Ekinrin-Adde, Dr. Michael Ayodele Oluwalagba, has made the list of eminent Ekinrin-Adde indigenes to be conferred with the prestigious Omo-Atata Award.
According to Pastor Emmanuel Ajibola Ogungbuyi, the National Publicity Secretary of EACDA, the Awardee was nominated for the honour on the premise of his unflinching contributions to the development of Ekinrin-Adde community, particularly in the areas of Education and economy.
Dr. Michael Ayodele Oluwalagba is a distinguished education strategist, ministry leader, digital innovation advocate, and community development champion. He was born into the family of Engineer Kolade Samuel Ikulagba and Madam Juliana Olufunke Ikulagba of Oke Alhaji Quarters, Ekinrin-Adde, Kogi State, Nigeria.
He spent the early years of his childhood under the loving care of his grandmother in Oke Alhaji, Ekinrin-Adde, before relocating to Ilorin, Kwara State, where he continued his upbringing and education.
Dr. Oluwalagba began his formal education at St. John Primary School, Maraba, Ilorin, before proceeding to Government Secondary School (GSS), Ilorin for his secondary education.
He later obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Ilorin and has since acquired several advanced academic and professional qualifications from reputable institutions in the United Kingdom and other international institutions.
As part of his commitment to educational development, Dr. Oluwalagba has provided scholarships and educational support to numerous students from Ekinrin-Adde at primary, secondary, and tertiary levels. His belief in the transformative power of education continues to drive many of his projects and initiatives.
He is the proprietor of Oma Lodge and Guest House, Ekinrin-Adde, a hospitality establishment that contributes to local economic development. He is also the founder and promoter of the proposed College of Nursing Sciences, Ekinrin-Adde, an ambitious project aimed at improving healthcare education and expanding access to quality nursing training within Kogi State and its surrounding communities.
With over twenty-five years of dedicated service in Christian leadership, mentorship, discipleship, devotional writing, and transformational leadership development, Dr. Oluwalagba has become a respected voice in ministry and leadership circles. He has mentored numerous individuals, church leaders, professionals, and young people, helping them discover purpose and achieve personal and professional growth.
Dr. Oluwalagba is also a member of the African Union Agenda 2063 Ambassadorial Assembly on Education, where he contributes to initiatives aimed at transforming education and human capital development across Africa. He is particularly passionate about bridging the gap between academic qualifications and employability through digital innovation, practical skills development, entrepreneurship, and technology-enabled learning systems.
He is Married to Barrister Mosunmola and they are blessed with wonderful children.
