Dr Sanusi Ohiare Honored with Democracy Newsline Newspaper’s Outstanding Award
It was a day of glitz and glamour as prominent Nigerians stepped out in colorful attires at the prestigious National Merit House, Abuja to be recognised for their outstanding contributions to their chosen career, Nigeria and humanity at large.
One Nigerian who has made a huge contribution to the growth and development of the country through his outstanding leadership qualities at the National Electrification Agency (REA), Dr Sanusi Ohiare, was one of the few personalities recognized in this year’s Democracy Newsline Newspaper Award with an Outstanding Award on Rural Infrastructure Development.

The award presentation which was held on 18th October 2023 at National Merit House Maitama, Abuja was in celebration of the thirteenth (13th) Anniversary of the media outfit and also in commemoration of the sixty-three (63) years Anniversary of Nigeria’s Political independence.
In his welcome address, the Publisher/CEO Olugbemi Femi noted that the occasion is an opportunity to recognize and appreciate the talents, achievements and contributions of individuals and organizations who have remarkably excelled in their respective fields of endeavours.
He further acknowledged that each of the awardees has demonstrated exceptional abilities, determination and unwavering commitment towards excellence, stressing that they have not only set new standards of excellence but have also become beacons of inspiration for others to follow.
Dr. Sanusi who was represented by his PA, Hamza Abubakar commended the organizers for a well-thought-out effort to recognize individuals and organizations who have contributed in one way or the other to the development of the human race, hence he is happy to be part of the 13th edition of the event, stressing that as a civil servant, he is just doing his constitutional responsibilities to add value to the system that will benefit all Nigerians.
Meanwhile, the management honoured him in line with the reports from a panel of experts who nominated him for the award in recognition of his contributions in National Electrification Agency when he held sway as the Executive Director of the agency, rural communities in the Nigeria and humanity at large.
Other recipients of the Leadership Award of Excellence were H.E. Dr.Abdullahi Ganduje, National Chairman APC, H.E.Gen. Buba Marwa (Rtd) Chairman/CEO NDLEA, Vice Admiral Joseph Ajayi (Rtd), Vice Admiral Jibrin Usman (Rtd), Former Chief of Naval Staff, Mrs Folashade Joseph, MD/CEO, Nigeria Agriculture Insurance Corporation, Dr. Tosin Oluyoko and Hajia Hadiza Mamman Vasta.
