…Amazons, Udama Women associations express readiness to deliver votes APC candidates

The Director, Research and Planning for Kogi All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Council in the November 11th gubernatorial election in Kogi State, Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman has again restated his commitment and interest to develop communities across Ankpa Local Government and also to help sustain the efforts of His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello in rural infrastructure when Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman assume power in January, 2024.

Dr. Usman stated this on Sunday 15 October, 2023 in an interactive engagement with Ankpa Elders Forum that comprised notable personalities and of high pedigrees drawn across various ethnic groups in Ankpa community.

He said, the state cannot afford to waste another tenure where a new occupant of Kogi State Government House would have to use his first tenure to ‘learn on the job’ while important governance matters suffer neglect.

Dr. Usman stressed that Alhaji Ododo has been part of government since inception, hence he would not have to learn but continue and consolidate on the numerous achievements across sectors.

He used the occasion to speak on many striking issues on governance in the state giving notable instances to buttress why he is convinced on the candidacy of Alhaji Ododo just as he highlight the several achievements recorded as Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja whilst urging the elders to jettison any narrow-minded agenda that seeks to divide rather than unite the state.

The Vice Chairman of Ankpa Elders Forum, Elder Isah ‘Coca–Cola’ who spoke on behalf of the Forum expressed gratitude to Dr. Usman for identifying with the Elders and for exemplifying Leadership adding that, he has absolute confidence that Dr. Usman would deliver any given responsibility at any level.

He charged Dr. Usman to continue prioritizing Human Capital Development saying that it’s the only investment that never fails.

The forum secretary, Colonel Tairu appreciated Dr. Usman for his exemplary leadership style while urging him to continue doing more for the people of the Local Government.

“You you have done so well and we are proud of you”, he averred.

During the consultation, there were special prayers beseeching God Almighty to grant Dr. Usman all his wishes and elevate him to a more bigger responsibilities in the state.

The chairman, Ankpa Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim while appreciating Ankpa Elders Forum, use the occasion to distanced himself from those promoting any ethnic sentiments cum agenda that are not issue based, and called on them to have a rethink of delivering APC in the November 11 governorship poll.

“Political parties are vehicle for governance and governance provide leadership,” he stated.

The Executives of the forum are; Dr. Egene Adah, Elder. Isah Coca cola, Colonel. Tairu, Dr. Adamu Sule, Elder John M. Ekeme, HRH Chukwume Ikeme; Elder. John Odoma, Elder Doko Enjema, Elder Mohammed Abdulazeez, Elder Ak Udam, Elder Pascal Adah, Elder. Adamu, Elder. Edenyi Jibril Bako, Elder. Sule Atodo, Elder Adogu, Hajiya Hauwa, hajiya Maimuna Mohammed and Elder. Kenneth keneshono.

In another related development and in a bid to secure grassroots support for the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman, Dr. Ogbo Usman met with “Amazon and Udama women associations”, a group of women who are passionate and committed to the success of Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman and Comrade Joel Oyibo Salifu.

During the meeting, the support women groups (Amazon and Udama) shared ideas on how to further engage women in the upcoming election and express readiness to deliver APC candidates in the November 11th governorship election.

They described Dr. Usman as a leader that matches his words with actions just as they expressed confidence in his ability to harnessed development to the community.

Earlier, Dr. Usman assured the women forums that their concerns and aspirations would be promptly addressed after the successful election, urging them to continue to work for the progress of the party.

He further appealed to them to safeguard their Permanent Voters Card (PVC’s) diligently just as he charged them to intensify more efforts in the next poll to ensure overwhelming victory for the All Progressives Congress which he said has presented the most credible and sellable candidate.
