Dr. Usman Ogbo welcomes Gov. Bello, Participates in Conferment of staff of office to Ejeh Ankpa.

…as new Ejeh took allegiance to fulfill his responsibilities

The Director Planning and Research for Kogi APC governorship campaign council Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman on Saturday 7th October, 2023 welcomes Kogi State Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello to the official presentation of staff of office to the newly decorated Ejeh Ankpa, His Royal Highness Alhaji Abubakar Yakubu and was met with unmatched decorum by the people of the kingdom.

The event was graced by Ata Igala and Chairman of the Kogi State Traditional Council of Chiefs, His Royal Majesty Mathew Alaji Opaluwa Ogwuche-akpa, CFR; the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, Mni; the Etsu Nupe, Dr. Yahaya Abubakar, CFR; the Governor of Katsina State, Mallam Diko Umar Rada; former Governor of Kogi State, Capt Idris Ichalla Wada; former Governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Ibrahim Shema; the Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shaibu Audu, as well as eminent sons and daughters of the state, and a host of other prominent individuals.

Dr. Usman who is also a member of the Central Planning Committee (CPC), prayed to God Almighty to grant the Ejeh, His Royal Highness Alhaji Abubakar Yakubu long life, sound health, wisdom and strength as he continue to reign on the throne.

Gov. Bello addressed the gathering, expressing his appreciation for the warm welcome received and his commitment to ensuring a secured State before, during and after Kogi November whilst charging the Ejeh to cultivate unity among his people, as this unity is pivotal to ensuring the security and prosperity of Ankpa.

“Today, we are here to celebrate you, my brother Alhaji Abubakar Yakubu, as the 4th Ejeh Ankpa, through the presentation of the Staff of Office. With this honor, you have become the father of all, and you must be just and equitable in all circumstances. Ankpa is blessed with abundant natural and human resources, and you can only harness these resources in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility.” he said

Gov Bello emphasize the role of justice in the Ejeh’s reign, and said, “This is the election season, and representatives from various political parties are present here. You can see my brother, Vice Admiral Jibrin Usman (Rtd), the Accord party candidate for the November 11 governorship election, seated alongside the APC candidate for the same election, Hon. Usman Ododo. They are engaged in discussions about the issues. I implore all of you to adhere to the rules. There will always be a forum where we can convene to discuss the growth and development of our state. Our government is resolute, and the security agencies are vigilant. No act of violence will be tolerated before, during, and after the election. I am confident that our party, the All Progressives Congress, will emerge victorious. I appeal to you to steer clear of violence entirely”.

The Ejeh Ankpa, HRH. Alhaji Abubakar Yakubu addressed the gathering, expressing his eternal gratitude to Governor Bello for picking interest in him and the people of Ankpa for their unmatched support.

Placed on oath by Barr. Z E Abbas, HRH. Alhaji Abubakar Yakubu bear allegiance to work hard to fulfill his responsibilities and to uphold the tradition and culture of the kingdom while calling on the people of the kingdom to unite and work together for the common good of all.

The ceremony graced by distinguished personalities drawn from far and wide.
