Dr Wale Bolorunduro Denies Allegations of Administrative Bail Over Local Government Funds
By Kehinde Akinpelu
Osogbo – Dr Wale Bolorunduro, former Commissioner of Finance in Osun State, has dismissed as baseless allegations made by Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice (CHRSJ) and Civil Societies Coalition for the Emancipation of Osun State (CSCEOS) that he was under administrative bail over local government funds.
In a statement, Bolorunduro clarified he was never invited by EFCC regarding local government funds, nor was he a member of the Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) during his tenure (2011-2014).
He cited the Osun State House of Assembly law excluding the Commissioner of Finance from JAAC meetings.
Bolorunduro challenged the organizations to question his successor, Bola Oyebamiji, and former Chief of Staff, Chief Gboyega Oyetola, about their involvement in JAAC meetings.
He described the allegations as libelous and announced plans to take legal action against the organizations.
He maintained his innocence, stating he’s willing to cooperate with lawful investigations and criticized the organizations for their “irresponsible and diversionary” claims, saying they’re seeking to target Governor Aregbesola.
Bolorunduro affirmed his membership in PDP and satisfaction with his party affiliation.
