In a show of unmatched political strength and grassroots support, the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, led a highly successful campaign rally for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the crucial by-elections in the Bagwai/Shanono and Gari/Tsanyawa State Constituencies, scheduled for this Saturday.
The rally, which drew thousands of enthusiastic party supporters and residents from across both constituencies, was a clear indication of APC’s deep-rooted presence and growing popularity in the Kano North Senatorial District. Described by observers as massive, electrifying, and unprecedented, the turnout underscored the party’s strong connection with the grassroots and the faith people have in its leadership and developmental agenda.
Senator Barau Jibrin, a towering political figure in Kano and an influential national leader, delivered a powerful message during the rally. He urged all APC faithful and voters in the two constituencies to come out en masse and vote for the APC candidates, emphasizing that a victory for the party would mean continued development and more transformative projects for the people of Kano North.
“We are on the path of progress. More projects are already in the pipeline for the people of Kano North, and with your support, we will deliver even more. Insha Allah, APC will emerge victorious this Saturday,” Senator Barau assured.
The event was further energized by the dramatic defection of several high-profile members and stalwarts of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), including influential Kwankwasiyya loyalists, who declared their support for the APC. The defections, seen as a significant political shift, were celebrated by party supporters as a clear sign of waning opposition influence and increasing public trust in the APC.
Senator Barau Jibrin, visibly pleased and encouraged by the massive support, expressed deep gratitude to the people for their unwavering commitment to the party.
“This massive turnout and the wave of defections are testimonies that our people are solidly behind the APC. It inspires us to double our efforts in addressing the challenges facing our communities and our country at large,” he said.
As the by-election day approaches, the APC campaign train has gained unstoppable momentum, with the party confident of sweeping victories in both constituencies. Senator Barau concluded with a heartfelt appeal to the people:
“Let us come out in our numbers on Saturday. Let us vote for the APC, vote for development, and vote for a better future for our children.”
With the unity, energy, and political might demonstrated during the rally, APC supporters across Kano North are optimistic that the party will not only win the upcoming elections but also consolidate its influence ahead of future political contests.
