Ebonyi Community Distance Self From Banishment Of Town Union President
The Traditional Ruler of Ekoli Edda Autonomous Community, HRH Ezeogo John Olughu Igwe-the Igboeze (iii) of Ekoli Edda and his Palace Chiefs has debunked and described as fake, false and misrepresentation the alleged banishment of the Town Union President of the community by some impostors and faceless Individuals.
The Traditional Ruler in a statement signed by him and made available to Journalists maintained that the impostors do not have the right traditionally to take such decision in the community as they are neither recognize by the State Government, law or the traditional institutions in Ekoli Edda Autonomous Community.
“My attention, HRH Ezeogo John Olughu Igwe-the Igboeze (iii), the only recognized Traditional Ruler of Ekoli Edda Autonomous Community and my palace chiefs, have been drawn to an online media posts in the alleged banishment of the Town Union President General of our community by imposters who claimed to be traditional ruler or rulers in Ekoli Edda.
I want to use this medium to declare unequivocally that I, HRH Ezeogo John Olughu Igwe-Igboeze 3rd is the only traditional ruler in Ekoli Edda Autonomous Community with a staff of office from the government of Ebonyi state under the pragmatic leadership of His Excellency, Rt Hon Francis Nwifuru, the Executive Governor of our state.
“The purported banishment of the National President of Ekoli Band of Hope Union Chief Samuel Kalu Ama Mba by the impostor’s is just a mere dreams and the figment of their own imagination.
“For record purposes, those impostors and faceless individuals do not have such powers and authority in our Ekoli.
Other stakeholders of the community including women and youth groups also unanimously disassociated themselves from the purported banishment of Chief Ama Mba described the signatories to the alleged banishment as imposters and faceless.
The statement by the community was signed by Chief Ude Uwakwe, Secretary, Igboeze Traditional Council of Chiefs, Chief Michael Eze, Speaker, Igboeze Traditional Council of Chiefs, Dcn Ibe Okoro Uduma, National secretary, Ekoli Band of Hope Union and Mr Kalu Ama Ibom, National PRO Ekoli Band of Hope Union for on behalf of the community.
The community also maintained that the individuals are those fomenting and instigating crisis in the community over the years adding that the move is to throw the community into crisis and truncate the peace in the community.
“The purported banishment apart from being a figment of the imagination of the individuals, it is also a calculated attempt to undermine the good reputation of Chief Ama Mba and create disaffection and confusion amongst members of the community.
“Chief Ama Mba has been one of our illustrious sons who has brought development to our community. He has empowered our youths and assisted other several individuals in both businesses and education. His support to the community has been commendable.
“We wish to state categorically that the purported banishment by the impostors is not just unfounded, regrettable, baseless but also uncalled for.
Chief Ama Mba since assumption of office as the National President of Ekoli Band of Hope Union has ensure that absolute peace returned to our community after several years of intimidation and harassment of the people of the community by a few individuals who parade themselves as demigods.
Chief Ama Mba as the National President has also restored the lost glory of our community. A community once seen as a volatile area is now a peaceful and quite community where people now go about their normal business without molestation and harassment.
We want to unequivocally also state that the leadership ingenuity of Chief Ama Mba and his executive has reinvigorated the confidence of the people of Ekoli Edda as most of our elders and stakeholders who were hitherto scared of returning home now visit Ekoli Edda without fear of intimidation.
Our women now go to their farms, harvest their crops without being harassed by some miscreants in the community. Youth restiveness, cultism and other criminal activities is gradually becoming a thing of the past in Ekoli Edda. Our youths are now becoming responsible citizens eager to make good use of their youthful age.
The alleged banishment of Chief Ama Mba from all observation is a product of envy, jealousy and greed of a certain group of people who still want the old narrative to continue in the community but Ekoli Edda in recent time unanimously stood their ground and said no to such actions against its people again.
The Community Commended the State Governor Francis Nwifuru for his support in fostering lasting peace in Ekoli Edda. We want to assure the State Governor of our readiness to continue to support his administration and his second term in office as his administration has restored peace, unity and mutual coexistence in our communities.
We also wish to urge the general public to disregard the purported banishment as it has no effect or traditional backing. As the custodians of the culture and traditions of Ekoli Edda, we are saying No to the antics of any paid agent in the name of elders who are bent on jeopardizing the peace process that the people of Ekoli Edda is currently enjoying.
The Community also wish to state that we have also unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of Chief Kalu Ama Mba and his executives and assured the executives of our readiness to support its programmes and policies towards the development of our community. Ends.
