Edda Town Union President Generals Frowns At Unprovoked Killings Of Okporojo Indigenes By Suspected Amasiri People
The Association of Edda Town Union President Generals has condemned in its entirety, the brutal murder of 5 Indigenes of Idima Okporojo Village, Oso Edda Community in Edda Local Government Area of Ebonyi State describing it as barbaric and regrettable.

President General, Ekoli Edda for and On behalf of Association of Edda Town Union President Generals said that the attacks and killing of innocent Edda people by the Amasiri people can no longer be tolerated by the people of EDDA clan.
The Association said that they have keenly followed the unfortunate but premeditated horrific attack on Idima Okporojo Autonomous Community in Osso Edda orchestrated by Amasiri community adding that the recent attacks appears to be the epic of brazen hunt for human lives and destruction of property in the last five years.
“As at the last count, the killing of five persons and the beheading of four among them including an aged woman brought to about seventy lives that have been taken by the people of Amasiri and their murderous machineries in the last three years.
“We therefore commend the State Governor, Rt.Hon Francis Nwifuru for his prompt intervention to prevent further carnage and blood shed.
“We want to use this medium to condemn in clear terms the unprovoked attack on Idima Okporojo and the beheading of four persons by Amasiri warlords in its entirety.
“We are calling on the State government to stop at nothing to arrest and prosecute the perpetrators to serve as a detergent to other communities that may choose to go into bloody conquest over land dispute.
The Association of Town Union President Generals of Edda also drummed support for all the measures adopted by the State government to entrench peace and security in Osso Edda and Amasiri.
They also appeal to the State Governor to direct for the resettlements of the families displaced in Okporojo village to enable them start life again and continue with their businesses and farm work as the farming season approaches.
“We also wish to appreciate His Excellency for his efforts in ensuring peace and security of lives and properties across the State. We are using this medium also to assure the Governor that the Town Union Presidents of Edda clan are solidly with him and will continue to support all his programs and policies aimed at maintaining peace and security in Edda land.
“According to Edda customs and traditions, the perpetrators of these heinous crimes must lose substantial part of their lands to atone for the bloodshed spilled by Amasiri people. It is our wish that this our customs and tradition be implemented and respected by the Amasiri people.
They Association also appealed to the State Governor to direct all concerned Ministries to as a matter of urgency embark on the dealination of the contentious boundary line between Osso Edda and Amasiri to forestall further hostility in the axis. Ends.
