EDUMO BUNU AGOG AS THE COMMUNITY RECEIVES A 500 KVA TRANSFORMER.
The ongoing attempts to reconnect Edumo Bunu to the National Grid are a covenant made and now being honoured when the Community received a 500 KVA transformer from the government of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, as Commander Duro Jerry Omodara, the State Security Adviser, shared the joyful moment to the community.
Speaking at the transformer’s formal handover, Commander Jerry Omodara stated that His Excellency, Gov. Ahmed Usman Ododo, wishes to give facilities to communities in the State as part of his campaign promises to improve the lives of the people. According to him, the Edumo community is one of the communities benefiting from the numerous transformers that are currently being dispersed around the State.
Commander Omodara went on to say that it is the government’s obligation to offer amenities to the people, and Governor Ododo is doing just that in the lives of his people. He urged the community to continue to pray for the Governor and encourage him to achieve greater success for the people of the State. “We must individually support the Government by providing timely and credible information to expose criminals among us, this is a vital step for a peaceful society”, he noted.
Residents revealed that the initial transformer failed a few months ago, and many attempts to fix it were unsuccessful.
Commander Omodara, however, brought it to the Governor’s attention as part of his responsibility and care. The transformer was delivered today and is ready for installation, making the community’s long-held aspirations and prayers a reality, he said.
During the handover, Dr. P. O Olorunfemi commended the Governor for carrying out God’s Words when He said, “Let there be light, and there was light”. He welcomed the Governor’s quick approval of another transformer and stated that the community will continue to stand by and support his government. Dr. P. O Olorunfemi praised Commander Jerry Omodara’s demeanour, describing him as a genuine lover of Bunuland.
He highlighted Commander Omodara’s efforts to connect the Edumo community to the National Grid in December 2010.
HRH Oba (Pst). Victor Ibinare, the Elea of Edumo Bunu, on behalf of the community, expressed gratitude to the Governor and prayed for God’s continuing presence and wisdom for Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo to fulfil his goals for the people of Kogi State.
HRH, the Elea of Edumo Bunu, also recognised and thanked Hon. Arch. Idris Salma, the House of Representatives Member representing the good people of Kabba / Bunu / Ijumu Federal Constituency, for his efforts to resuscitate the previous transformer, which was tragically beyond repair.
It should be noted that Commander Jerry Omodara delivered a 500 KVA transformer for the Edumo Community in 2010 through the Kabba/Bunu Local Government during the administration of Honourable Nathaniel Ojo Taiwo, which sustained the community till it failed more than six months ago
