Ejuku Residents Applaud Senator Karimi Over Erosion Control, Culvert Reconstruction
By Our Correspondent
Residents of Ejuku community in Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State, including farmers, business owners and motorists, have expressed appreciation to Distinguished Senator Sunday Steve Karimi for his timely intervention in addressing erosion and road-related challenges in the community.
The intervention involves erosion control, reconstruction of culverts and channelling works aimed at addressing the effects of erosion, improving drainage and making the road safer and more accessible to road users.

The project, being financed privately by Senator Karimi, is expected to provide relief to residents and other road users who depend on the route for their daily economic activities and livelihoods.
Farmers, traders, business owners and motorists who ply the road have welcomed the intervention, describing it as a development that will help ease transportation difficulties and reduce the risks associated with erosion and damaged drainage infrastructure.
An eyewitness who spoke on the project noted that the people of Ejuku were particularly appreciative of the senator’s intervention, describing the community as his second home.
According to the eyewitness, the senator’s connection with Ejuku and his decision to address the community’s infrastructure challenges have further strengthened the people’s appreciation of his gesture.
The erosion control, culvert reconstruction and channelling works are considered important to the community, particularly as residents rely on the road for the movement of farm produce, transportation of goods and access to neighbouring communities.
Meanwhile, a similar intervention is reportedly ongoing simultaneously in Ilafin, Isanlu, also in Yagba East Local Government Area.
The two projects underscore ongoing efforts to address erosion and drainage challenges affecting communities in the area, with residents expected to benefit from improved road access and reduced disruption to their daily activities.
Community members have expressed hope that the projects will be completed to the required standards and deliver lasting solutions to the environmental and transportation challenges facing the affected areas.
The interventions have also drawn attention to the importance of public-spirited contributions towards addressing local infrastructure needs, particularly in communities where erosion and inadequate drainage can affect livelihoods, mobility and economic activities.
