Emir Bayero Condemns Destruction of Governor’s Banners, Orders Replacement.

The Emir of Kano, His Highness Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has condemned the destruction of banners bearing the photographs of Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, and directed their immediate replacement.
The Emir’s Chief Councillor, Alhaji Aminu Babba Dan’agundi, Sarkin Dawaki Babba, disclosed this while addressing journalists, saying the monarch was displeased by the development and had ordered that the damaged banners be repaired or replaced.

He said the Emir emphasised that the traditional institution must remain above partisan politics, stressing that traditional rulers are “fathers of the people, not politicians.”
The Sarkin Dawaki Babba therefore appealed to the Emir’s supporters and well-wishers to avoid introducing partisan political activities into the affairs of the traditional institution.
He also conveyed the Emir’s appreciation to the thousands of men, women, youths and elders who demonstrated their solidarity by accompanying him on foot to his residence at the Nassarawa Palace despite heavy rainfall and strong winds.
According to him, the Emir expressed gratitude for the people’s patience, loyalty and peaceful conduct, and prayed for abundant blessings for them.
The monarch further urged his supporters and the people of Kano to continue praying for peace, stability and progress in Kano State and Nigeria, as well as prosperity and wellbeing for the people.
