“Engr. Bashir Gegu’s Donation Boosts Owara Central Mosque Project”

Engr. Abubakar Bashiru Gegu, Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources in Kogi State, has donated N500,000 to support the construction of Owara Central Mosque.

The donation was made on Saturday, May 11, 2024, during the wedding Fatiha of his aides, Mallam Muhammed Ozugbe and Mallama Fatima, in Lokoja Local Government Area.

The Chief Imam of Owara Central Mosque had earlier appealed for support towards the construction of the community’s central mosque, prompting Engr. Bashiru’s kind gesture.

Whilst presenting the donation, Engr. Bashiru expressed his gratitude to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for the opportunity to serve the people of Kogi State.

He also acknowledged the role played by former Governor Yahaya Bello in his political career and requested that the rewards of his contribution to the mosque be extended to both governors, as well as his late father, Mallam Abubakar Umar Gegu, who he credited with giving him a good upbringing.

Engr. Bashiru urged the Muslim community in Owara to make judicious use of the donation and requested continuous prayers for the past and present governors of the state.

This donation demonstrates Engr. Bashiru’s commitment to supporting community development and promoting religious harmony in the state.
