Ex-Kogi Speaker, Prince Kolawole Empowers Over 250 Widows in Kabba Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency
Former Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Prince Mathew Kolawole, has empowered over 250 widows in Kabba Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency through his Prince Mathew Kolawole Widows Empowerment Program.
The program, which is an annual event, aims to provide financial support and succor to widows in the community.
In addition to the widows’ empowerment program, Prince Kolawole also launched a students support scheme to provide financial assistance to students from the federal constituency.
This initiative is designed to help students pursue their education without financial burdens.
He also assured the widows that his monthly support of N10,000, which is already ongoing, will be sustained.
He expressed gratitude to Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo for his support and good governance in the state.
The former Speaker urged the people of Kabba Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, particularly women and youths, to sustain their support for Governor Ododo’s administration, citing the administration’s commitment to education and empowerment.
The widows who benefited from the program lauded Prince Kolawole’s efforts, describing the support as a blessing that would go a long way in assisting them and their families. They prayed for his continued success and well-being.
The items distributed to the widows included cash support, wrappers, rice, and garri, among others. These items are designed to help the women sustain their families and livelihoods.
The empowerment program was part of Prince Kolawole’s 60th birthday anniversary celebrations and a testament to his commitment to giving back to his community.
