FAAC Disburses ₦1.969trn January Allocation to FG, States, LGs
The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has distributed a total of ₦1.969 trillion as revenue allocation for the month of January to the three tiers of government.
From the amount shared, the Federal Government received ₦653.5 billion, while the 36 states shared a combined ₦706.4 billion.
The 774 local government councils across the country received ₦513.2 billion from the January allocation.
Oil-producing states were also paid ₦96 billion as their 13 per cent derivation from oil revenue.
A breakdown of the distributed funds showed that Value Added Tax (VAT) contributed ₦846.5 billion to the total pool.
Other statutory revenue sources accounted for ₦1.631 trillion, while the Electronic Money Transfer Levy added ₦38.1 billion to the amount shared for the month.
Meanwhile, the Minister of State for Finance, Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite, has confirmed that federal government workers have started receiving their January salaries.
Speaking on the development, the Minister said salary payments had commenced through commercial banks.
“Federal civil servants have started receiving their January salaries. I can also confirm that I received mine on Friday,” Uzoka-Anite said.
