As Plateau State will be clocking 50, on February 3rd, 2026. A call has been made on the citizens of the State to imbibe the spirit of supporting government policies particularly,on Environment and Sanitation.

He, was fielding questions from journalists, and according to him, for the people to keep their environment clean is not a rocket science if truly the citizens want Plateau to move forward, urging them join hands together as one united family.

“At this age and with the level of announcements on radio and social media, some people will still claim they are not aware of the Sanitation and it is only one day designated for the exercise in a month.

“It is unfortunate that people attached politics and sentiments in almost everything in this part of the world.

“Now we are celebrating 50 years as a state, where have we move to when we are still using guns and sticks chasing people to observe sanitation. It is a time for reflection.

According to Bankat, it is not the kind of society we want our children to grow in.

He said that the Celebration will give sense of fulfilment and as people, “we will be deliberate to change our stories and this change mantra must begin with me and you and for us,we are passionate about it because,we want to change the system and we have the pride to see our children grow here and be who they want to be just like any other person in the world.

That’s the passion that is driving us to do what we are doing.
