Fanwo Hails Rep Abejide’s N710 Million Project Grants To Communities

By Stephen Adeleye

Lokoja, Dec. 26, 2025 Kogi State’s Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, has praised Rep. Leke Abejide’s unprecedented N710 million grant to 71 Yagbaland communities, calling it “historic and transformational”.

Abejide, House of Representative member, representing Yagba Federal Constituency, had on Wednesday disbursed N10 million to each of 71 communities in Yagba land.

Each community received N10 million for locally-driven projects.

Fanwo in a statement on Friday in Lokoja, commended Abejide’s commitment to grassroots development, saying the initiative will spark “unprecedented development” and silencing critics.

“Performance has cancelled criticism,” Fanwo said.

He urged communities to utilize funds transparently.

Fanwo also lauded Abejide’s security interventions, including logistics and tech tools, calling it “decisive leadership”.

“This is how to represent a people. Abejide is thinking development, security and progress.

“He has worked closely with the Kogi State Government, offering the necessary cooperation to secure not only Yagbaland but the entire state.

“When the big masquerade appeared, the game changed.

“Though he is not yet in our party, he did not politicise the welfare and security of his people. I will continue to support him beyond 2027.

“We do not replace performance. We will do everything within our power to ensure that this man emerges as our party’s candidate in 2027,” Fanwo said.

The commissioner praised Abejide’s holistic governance approach, saying he’s “thinking development, security, progress”.

Fanwo urged the people of Yagba to continue to give their support to Abejide, saying the legislator is steadily redefining and resetting representative democracy.
