Fanwo to Mopamuro: Let’s Do the Abejide Project Together in 2027

By J.O. Abel-Ontop

Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, has called on Mopamuro stakeholders and residents to embrace a united political front in support of Rt. Hon. Leke Abejide in the 2027 election cycle, describing him as the most effective and credible choice for Yagba Federal Constituency.

Fanwo made the appeal on Wednesday while addressing a delegation of Mopamuro residents who paid him a courtesy visit, noting that the constituency has now seen the quality, competence, and results associated with Abejide’s representation.

According to the Commissioner, it is neither unusual nor problematic for Mopamuro sons and daughters to express political ambition, as it is within their rights and part of democratic participation. However, he emphasized that beyond individual ambition, the larger goal should be the collective interest and electoral success of Yagba in Abuja.

He further cautioned stakeholders to be mindful of political opportunists who parade themselves as strategists but only exploit aspirants financially without adding electoral value or grassroots structure.

Fanwo also reaffirmed Rt. Hon. Leke Abejide’s support for Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo, applauding his contributions to security enhancement through the provision of operational facilities to relevant outfits and general cooperation with the state administration.

He urged Mopamuro residents to consolidate on Abejide’s achievements by supporting his third-term bid, stressing that legislative experience and national political networks are invaluable assets for developing Yagba and placing it firmly on the national map.

Responding, the visiting delegation thanked Fanwo for his openness and continuous engagement with the grassroots, acknowledging his regular empowerment initiatives and accessibility. They assured him that Mopamuro people would continue to align with positive direction and credible leadership.

They also encouraged the Commissioner to sustain his developmental and empowerment interventions, noting that such gestures strengthen unity, foster goodwill, and enhance political consciousness within the local government.
