Federal Fire Service Boss, CG Olumode Adeyemi Samuel Honoured for Commitment to Safety and Emergency Response

ABUJA — The Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, CG Olumode Adeyemi Samuel, has been honoured with the prestigious Public Safety Leadership Award 2026 by Democracy Newsline Newspaper.
The award was presented at the newspaper’s 16th Anniversary and Awards Ceremony held in Abuja. CG Olumode was represented at the event by Hon. Chief Segun Abereoran.
The organisers recognised CG Olumode for his outstanding leadership, reforms in emergency response, modernization of firefighting equipment, and his commitment to public safety and disaster risk reduction across Nigeria.
According to Democracy Newsline, the Public Safety Leadership Award celebrates individuals in security and emergency management who have demonstrated courage, innovation, and impact in protecting lives and property.
Speaking on behalf of the CG, Hon. Chief Abereoran expressed gratitude to the organisers and described the award as a call to do more.
“My principal, CG Olumode Adeyemi Samuel, is deeply committed to repositioning the Federal Fire Service to meet global standards. This award will further spur the Service to intensify efforts in fire prevention, public sensitization, and rapid emergency response,” he stated.
In a goodwill message, CG Olumode dedicated the award to officers and men of the Federal Fire Service, as well as to communities working with the Service to promote safety.
“Public safety is a collective responsibility. This recognition belongs to every firefighter on the frontline risking their lives to save others,” the message read.
