Governor Yahaya Bello visited Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the Acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress party, at his Asokoro residence on Thursday evening.
During his conversation with journalists, Governor Bello explained that his visit centered around discussions and party preparations for the upcoming Kogi 2023 gubernatorial election and to also commend the acting national chairman for what he’s been doing. He emphasized that he and the party leadership were collaborating to establish a strong campaign council for the election.
In response to questions regarding the Deputy National Publicity position within the party, Governor Bello stated that Kogi State has been given the opportunity to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of the former officer. He clarified that the party leadership in Kogi State had decided to allocate the position to Kogi West Senatorial District for the party’s benefit. This decision had been communicated to the Zonal and the National Working Committee of the party.
Governor Bello also assured journalists that the political environment in Kogi was tranquil and favorable, expressing confidence that the APC would secure victory in the governorship election scheduled for November 11.
Similarly, the Acting National Chairman of the party confirmed to journalists that the process of selecting and inaugurating individuals to fill the vacant positions was still ongoing.
