Abuja, Nigeria – July 16, 2025

Former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Nigeria’s former Head of State and President, Muhammadu Buhari, describing his death as a monumental loss to the nation.

“We are deeply saddened by the departure of our former Army Chief, Military Head of State, and two-term civilian President, Muhammadu Buhari,” Ogbeh stated. “May the Almighty God show him compassion and grant him eternal rest.”

Ogbeh, who served in Buhari’s cabinet during his first term as a democratic president, noted that the former leader’s legacy of discipline, integrity, and patriotism would continue to inspire generations of Nigerians.

“As we mourn his passing, we also pray that God watches over the family he has left behind, and the Nigeria he so dearly loved and served. May peace and prosperity become our collective inheritance in the years to come,” he added.

President Buhari, who died on Sunday at the age of 82, served Nigeria in various capacities, from military leadership in the 1980s to democratic governance between 2015 and 2023. Tributes have continued to pour in from within and outside the country, highlighting his impact on national security, infrastructure development, and anti-corruption reforms.

Chief Ogbeh joins a growing list of prominent Nigerians who have paid glowing tributes to the late President, acknowledging his service and sacrifice for the nation.
