Former FIRS Director, Dr. (Mrs.) Ruth Arokoyo, to Receive Prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award

In recognition of her outstanding contributions to the development of tax administration in Nigeria and community development services, Dr. (Mrs.) Ruth Arokoyo, a former Director at the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), is set to receive a prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award from Democracy Newsline Newspaper.
According to a press statement by Elder Olalekan Aiyenigba, Executive Editor, made available to newsmen in Abuja, Dr. Arokoyo’s legacy will continue to inspire and motivate future generations of tax professionals, and this award serves as a testament to her enduring impact on the industry.
He said the award is based on reports from a team of experts who conducted an opinion poll.
He added that the recognition will be bestowed on Dr. Arokoyo during the upcoming 15th Public Lecture and Award Ceremony, scheduled to hold on August 26, 2025, at the Banquet Hall, National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja.
The Red Carpet Ceremony will commence at 5 pm, followed by the Main Event at 6 pm, and a dinner program.
The event’s theme is “Role of Independent Media in Promoting Participatory Democracy and Good Governance,” and it will bring together stakeholders to discuss Nigeria’s democratic progress.
He said the ceremony will feature a keynote address from a reputable Nigerian and the launch of a N100 million fund for podcast studio equipment and the establishment of Democracy Newsline Newspaper’s online Television station.
