Abuja, Nigeria — His Excellency Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the distinguished former Governor of Kano State, former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and current Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), recently received a delegation of veteran local government chairmen from all 44 local government areas of Kano State.

The delegation was led by the former Commissioner for Local Governments, HE Murtala Sule Garo, who led the respected group of former local government leaders in a courtesy visit to Dr. Ganduje’s residence in Asokoro, the Federal Capital Territory.

The meeting was a cordial and insightful gathering that brought together years of political and administrative experience to discuss the state of local governance, the challenges faced by grassroots administrations, and pathways for sustainable development in Kano State and beyond.

Dr. Ganduje, known for his impactful leadership both at the state level and within the APC, used the opportunity to share his perspectives on the critical role local governments play in Nigeria’s political structure. He emphasized the need for strong, accountable local leadership to drive community development, improve service delivery, and promote political stability.

In his remarks, HE Murtala Sule Garo expressed deep appreciation for Dr. Ganduje’s continued mentorship and dedication to advancing good governance in Kano and across Nigeria. He noted that the visit was not only a chance to pay respect but also to deliberate on strategies for enhancing cooperation between state and local governments.
