Former Kogi Commissioner, Olori Margaret Orebiyi Commends Democracy Newsline Newspaper as she bags Lifetime Achievements Award, 2024

Former Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development in Kogi State, Olori Margaret Orebiyi has commended the management and Staff of Michabifem Ventures Limited, publisher of Democracy Newsline Newspaper and Promoter of Democracy Newsline Newspaper Award for counting her worthy to be honored with the Prestigious Lifetime Achievements Award of the reputable media outfit.
She made the commendation yesterday at her Lokoja residence when the Chairman/CEO of the organization, Chief Olugbemi Femi visited her to present the award to her.
The highly elated elder stateswoman who celebrated her 80th birthday anniversary recently poured encomium on the management of the organization for their giant efforts at remembering people who have truly worked for the growth and development of the state and humanity, pointing out that it is the grace of God that have kept her going.
“At this stage of my life, I am only praying to know God more than ever before so as when He finally call me home, it will not be death but sleep in Lord” she said
She encouraged the current leadership in the country to see their position as opportunity to contribute their quota to make positive impacts on the life of the people, urging them that in whatever they do, they should remember God as the Alfa and Omega of the entire universe.
Earlier, Chief Olugbemi Femi said the management of the organization working with their team of experts had considered her for the Lifetime Achievements Award considering her contributions to the overall development of Kogi State, Nigeria and humanity, as one time Director General of Teaching Service Commission and later Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development in Kogi state aside been an astute politician, community leader and philanthropist.
He said the award is in recognition of her total efforts toward the emancipation of the womenfolk and rasing God-fearing children to make the society worth living for all.
Meanwhile, the award ceremony, took place on October 9, 2024, at the Banquet Hall of the Merit House Maitama, Abuja, marking the fourteenth anniversary of the media outfit and the sixty-fourth anniversary of Nigeria’s Political Independence.
The event also featured papers on the role of social media in the development of the agriculture sector by Dr. Tunde Arosoyin, National Coordinator of Zero Hunger Nigeria, and on “Nigeria and the personal perspective in politics” by Comrade Bala Ibrahim.
Other recipients of special recognition awards included H.E. Hon. Mohammed Umaru Bago, Niger State Governor, HE Mrs. Agyin Agbu Kefas, First Lady of Taraba State, and several other prominent figures.
