Former Speaker Rt. Hon. Matthew Kolawole Steals the Spotlight at Ogidi Day 2025 Celebration

The vibrant atmosphere of this year’s Ogidi Day Celebration witnessed a remarkable moment as the former Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly and prominent grassroots mobilizer, Rt. Hon. Matthew Olusola Kolawole (Yomikola), made a highly impactful appearance that resonated strongly with the people.
Rt. Hon. Kolawole, who represented the Kabba/Bunu State Constituency between 2015 and 2023 at the State House of Assembly used the occasion to reconnect with his roots and reaffirm his commitment to the growth and development of Ogidi, the Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, and the entire Kogi State.
In a symbolic gesture of goodwill and support, the former Speaker made a significant donation towards the success of the festival, further strengthening his ties with the community and reinforcing his reputation as a leader who prioritizes grassroots engagement.
Addressing the crowd, Kolawole lauded the efforts of former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello, whom he described as “the architect of modern Kogi State,” for laying a strong developmental foundation during his administration.
