Foster love for reading at children’s early age, award winning author urges parents, educators

Kehinde Emmanuel

Best selling and award winning author, Bolaji Ajayi, has urged parents and educators to foster love for reading at early ages of children.

She said it is important to make reading exciting and relevant for kids, so that it competes with the allure of social media.

She spoke on Monday in an interview on her new book titled “Akiti the Hunter Part III: Akiti and the Juju Tree.”

Analysing the new book: ‘Akiti the Hunter Part III: Akiti and the Juju Tree’, she urged the readers to brace themselves up for a thrilling adventure with Akiti!

“This brave hunter has faced countless dangers, but nothing compares to the spooky challenge that awaits him in the mystical depths of his homeland. In “Akiti and the Hunter Part III: Akiti and the Juju Tree,” the bond between Akiti and his beloved daughter, Nadia, shines as brightly as the sun. Their relationship is as strong as the mightiest oak, a testament to love, courage, and the unbreakable ties of family.

“However, peace is short-lived when a shadowy figure emerges-the mysterious Juju Tree, an ancient and magical entity that disrupts their tranquil life. With its gnarled branches reaching ominously toward the sky and whispers of forgotten lore echoing through the winds, the Juju Tree brings with it a chilling proposition: Akiti must sacrifice his most prized possession to save his family from a devastating drought that threatens their village.

“As the relentless heat bears down, Akiti faces an agonizing choice. His heart races as he contemplates the implications of the Juju Tree’s offer. Will he be able to muster the strength to confront the darkness that looms before him? The tree’s eerie presence is not just a physical challenge but a test of Akiti’s deepest fears and values. What does it mean to be a hero when the stakes are so high?

“Join Akiti on this heart-pounding quest filled with danger, magic, and unexpected twists. As he navigates the treacherous landscape of his village, Akiti encounters mystical creatures and allies who challenge his perceptions and guide him on his journey. Each step he takes unveils secrets about the Juju Tree, revealing its true nature and the ancient powers it wields. Will he discover that the tree is not merely an adversary, but also a keeper of wisdom that could illuminate his path? Ajayi said.

She added: “Throughout this gripping tale, themes of sacrifice, resilience, and the strength of familial bonds resonate deeply. As Akiti delves into the heart of the Juju Tree, he learns valuable lessons about love and courage, ultimately confronting the darkness that seeks to claim him. His journey is as much about saving his family as it is about understanding himself and what it means to protect those he loves.

“With every twist and turn, readers will be captivated by the vivid imagery and rich cultural backdrop that Bolaji Ajayi weaves into this enchanting narrative. The vibrant landscapes of Akiti’s world come alive as he traverses through perilous terrains, each setting infused with the magic and mystery of African folklore.

“Will Akiti become the hero we know and love, or will the darkness envelop him, claiming his spirit and his family’s future? As he grapples with the weight of his choices, the suspense builds, leading to a climax that will leave readers breathless.

“Get ready for a spooky adventure that will keep you on the edge of your seat! Experience the journey of a lifetime as Akiti faces the unknown, battles fear, and embraces the power of love in “Akiti and the Hunter Part III: Akiti and the Juju Tree.” This spellbinding story will resonate with young and old alike, reminding us all that true bravery lies not just in facing our fears, but in the bonds we share and the sacrifices we make for those we hold dear. Join Akiti and Nadia as they embark on a journey filled with magic, danger, and heart, discovering what it truly means to be a hero.”
