Foundation Laid for Donated 1,300-Capacity Auditorium at Kogi State University, Kabba

KABBA – The Vice Chancellor of Kogi State University, Kabba, Professor K.I.T. Eniola, fNSM, FRA, on Monday, led the university community in the official groundbreaking and foundation-laying ceremony for a 1,300-capacity auditorium generously donated by Dr. John Adegboye, an Australia-based medical doctor and distinguished son of Okunland.

The ceremony, held at the designated project site, was marked by joy and renewed optimism as the institution continues its strategic infrastructure expansion in support of its academic vision.

Participating virtually from Perth, Australia, Dr. Adegboye expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the growth of his homeland. He described the donation as a personal commitment to advancing education and community development, noting that the progress of the university under Professor Eniola’s leadership had inspired his decision.

Dr. Adegboye also extended special appreciation to the Vice Chancellor for fostering an environment of excellence, and to Venerable Omeiza, who symbolically laid the foundation on his behalf during the event.

The ceremony was attended by principal officers of the university, including the Registrar, Dr. J.U. Amodu; the Bursar, Pastor Mrs. Florence Gbodi Alabi; and other senior officials.

In a symbolic demonstration of unity and commitment, the foundation edges were laid sequentially: first by Rev. Omeiza on behalf of the donor, followed by the Vice Chancellor, the Registrar, and the Bursar.

In his closing remarks, Professor Eniola commended Dr. Adegboye for his uncommon generosity and foresight, describing the project as “a transformative gift that will significantly enhance both academic and social life on our campus.”
