FUOYE Agog as VC Bags Daily Independent Vice-Chancellor Award 2024

The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) community is in a celebratory mood as its Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abayomi Fasina, clinched the prestigious Daily Independent Newspapers’ Best Vice-Chancellor Award for 2024. The award recognizes his exceptional leadership, transformative vision, and unwavering commitment to academic excellence, which have propelled FUOYE to new heights in just four years.

Under Professor Fasina’s leadership, FUOYE has experienced significant growth in infrastructure, academic programs, and strategic initiatives, enhancing its reputation. His efforts have positioned FUOYE among Nigeria’s top seven universities in the Times Higher Education Interdisciplinary Science Rankings.

The award has sparked an outpouring of congratulatory messages from members of the FUOYE community and beyond.

Professor Olubukola Oyawoye, Director of the Advancement Centre, described the recognition as “a testament to the Vice-Chancellor’s exceptional leadership and transformative contributions to FUOYE.” She added, “Under his leadership, FUOYE has witnessed significant growth and development, solidifying its position as a top-tier institution in Nigeria.”

The FUOYE Innovation Hub, through the Director of Innovation and Digital Technology, Prof. O.S. Ayanda, also joined in celebrating the achievement, stating, “FUOYE Innovation Hub congratulates Prof. Abayomi Fasina on winning the Daily Independent Newspapers’ Best Vice-Chancellor Award for 2024. Your visionary leadership and commitment to excellence continue to inspire innovation and growth at FUOYE.”

Professor Bukola Bolaji also lauded the Vice-Chancellor’s achievements, noting, “Congratulations to the Vice-Chancellor on receiving the Vice-Chancellor Award for 2024 in recognition of exceptional dedication, service, and commitment to excellence. The remarkable transformation of FUOYE over the past four years is a testament to your hard work, making this achievement well deserved.”

In a similar manner, the Ag. Director of ICT, Mr. Durojaye Samson praised Professor Fasina’s innovative spirit, saying, “This well-deserved recognition celebrates your transformative leadership, innovative spirit, and unwavering commitment to academic excellence at FUOYE. Your dedication to education, community development, and innovation has significantly impacted FUOYE, solidifying its position as a top-tier institution in Nigeria.”

The entire FUOYE community celebrates Professor Fasina’s dedication to academic excellence, and innovation. The award not only honors his individual achievements but also reflects the collective progress of FUOYE under his visionary leadership.
