Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has strongly condemned the gruesome murder of a housewife and her children in Kano State, describing the incident as tragic, barbaric, and deeply disturbing.
Dr. Ganduje expressed profound shock and sorrow over the heinous act, which occurred in Dorayi Chiranci community, Gwale Local Government Area, noting that the killing of innocent and defenseless citizens represents a grave assault on shared human values and the sanctity of life.
In a statement issued on his behalf by his Chief of Staff, Comrade Muhammad Garba, Dr. Ganduje extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the Dorayi Chiranci community, and the people of Kano State at large.
“This heartbreaking incident is a painful reminder of the urgent need for sustained collective action to safeguard lives, strengthen community vigilance, and uphold peace and security in our society,” he stated.
While condemning the crime in the strongest terms, the former APC National Chairman commended the Kano State Police Command for its swift response, professionalism, and prompt arrest of suspects linked to the killings.
Dr. Ganduje urged security agencies to ensure a thorough investigation and diligent prosecution of all those found culpable, stressing that justice must not only be done but must be seen to be done.
“The speed and professionalism demonstrated by the Kano State Police Command are reassuring. Justice must be pursued to its logical conclusion to serve as a deterrent to criminal elements and restore public confidence,” he said.
He further called on residents to remain calm, law-abiding, and supportive of law enforcement agencies by providing timely and credible information, emphasizing that community cooperation remains indispensable to achieving lasting peace and security.
Ganduje Mourns Business Icon Abdul’aziz
In the same statement, Dr. Ganduje also mourned the passing of Alhaji Bature Abdul’aziz, a prominent businessman and respected community leader in Kano, who died after a brief illness.
He described the late Abdul’aziz as a towering figure in Kano’s commercial landscape, whose life was defined by integrity, dedication, and selfless service to the business community.
Dr. Ganduje noted that the deceased rose through the ranks to become a leading voice among traders and entrepreneurs, earning widespread respect for his leadership, wisdom, and advocacy.
He particularly highlighted Abdul’aziz’s tenure as a former leader of the Kantin Kwari Market Traders Association, where he played a pivotal role in championing the welfare of traders, promoting unity, and strengthening the organization and growth of commercial activities in Kano and beyond.
“His contributions to commerce, community development, and peaceful coexistence will remain indelible. Kano has lost a bridge-builder and a voice of reason within the business community,” Ganduje said.
The former governor prayed for the eternal rest of the departed souls, comfort for their families, and divine protection for Kano State and the nation as a whole.
