Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and immediate past Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has expressed joy and gratitude following the successful graduation of his daughter, Fatima Ganduje, from King’s College London, one of the United Kingdom’s most prestigious and globally respected universities.
Fatima Ganduje, who is married to Idris Ajimobi, son of the late former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, completed her studies at the London-based institution and formally graduated on Thursday in a ceremony attended by family members and well-wishers.
Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Friday, Dr. Ganduje announced the milestone, describing it as a proud and humbling moment for his family. He thanked God for the successful completion of her academic journey and praised his daughter’s dedication, discipline, and perseverance throughout her years of study.
“This is indeed a moment of immense pride for us as parents,” Ganduje wrote. “We are grateful to Almighty Allah for guiding Fatima through her academic journey and for rewarding her hard work with this success.”
King’s College London, founded in 1829, is consistently ranked among the world’s leading universities and is renowned for excellence in research, innovation, and academic rigor. Fatima’s graduation from the institution adds to a growing narrative of Nigerian youths making their mark in top global academic environments.
Observers note that the achievement reflects the importance the Ganduje family places on education, a value Dr. Ganduje frequently emphasized during his years in public service.
As governor of Kano State, he championed policies aimed at improving access to education, particularly for girls, and strengthening human capital development.
The graduation has also drawn congratulatory messages from political associates, party members, friends, and members of the public, many of whom took to social media to celebrate the accomplishment and wish Fatima success in her future endeavors.
As Fatima Ganduje begins a new chapter beyond academia, her achievement stands as a symbol of perseverance, family support, and the growing presence of Nigerians in elite global institutions, inspiring many young people at home and abroad to pursue excellence through education.
