Garun Mallam Reiterates Commitment to Education Development.

By SULAIMAN HUSSAIN D/KUDU
December 3, 2024.

The Chairman of Garun Mallam Local Government Area in Kano State, Hon. Barrister Aminu Salisu Kadawa, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prioritizing education for the development of the area. This assurance was made shortly after his turbaning as Sardaunan Daliban Arewa by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Zone A, during a ceremony held yesterday at Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education, Kumbotso Campus, Kano.

Expressing his gratitude, Hon. Kadawa described the honor as a significant milestone in his career. “This recognition encourages us to redouble our efforts in supporting the education sector. I am deeply honored to be selected and turbaned as Sardaunan Daliban Arewa. Out of the 44 local government chairmen in Kano State, I am humbled to be chosen for this prestigious title. I thank NANS for this recognition and also thank God for granting me the opportunity to serve as Chairman of Garun Mallam Local Government,” he said.

Hon. Kadawa reassured students across the local government area of his administration’s unwavering support, including scholarships and other necessary assistance to ease the challenges they face in their studies. “Education is the backbone of our society, and my administration remains committed to ensuring no student is left behind,” he added.

Speaking on behalf of NANS, the National President, Comrade Muhammad Bello Bala, represented by the Secretary-General, Ambassador Comrade Faruq M. Rabiu, explained the decision to turban Hon. Kadawa. He praised the chairman’s dedication, hard work, and unrelenting support for the education sector, particularly in Garun Mallam. “When leaders invest in the education of youths, they are building a future for generations. Education is the foundation of societal development, and we will continue to honor leaders who share this vision,” he noted.

In their remarks, Hon. Abdumunaf Umar Jobawa, Supervisor for Education, and Hon. Rahama Sani, Supervisor for Women’s Affairs, described Hon. Kadawa as a champion of educational progress, nicknaming him “Mr. Education.” They highlighted several achievements under his leadership, including the provision of free school uniforms to primary and secondary students, supply of teaching and learning materials, renovation of classrooms, and other initiatives aimed at advancing education in the local government area.

The event celebrated Hon. Kadawa’s notable contributions to education and youth development, further solidifying his reputation as a progressive leader committed to the betterment of his community.
