GC Girinya Denies Reports of Removal As VGN Commandant.

The Group Commandant of the Federal Capital Territory (Fct). Abuja Command, of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) GC Idris Umaru Girinya has refuted Claims of his Alleged removal as the Commandant of the Command.

In a Statement available to the media, Saturday, June 14th 2025, GC Girinya,described as false the report of his removal, Claiming, he still remains the recognized and functional Commandant of the Federal Capital Territory’s Command of the the Vigilante Group of Nigeria.

GC Commandant Girinya’s statements, was not unconnected to a reports by some News outlets alleging his removal, and a replacement by Yabo Maji Micha.

The Commandant further pledged the Command’s determination and unwavering Commitments towards ensuring the Security of lives and Properties in the FCT, through effective policing in all the nooks and crannies of the federal Capital Territory.

” If you observe properly, the rates of attacks on residents by Criminal elements has drastically reduced, and this is due to the presence of our Men in virtuely all the nooks and crannies in all the Six Area Councils, and our quick response to Calls whenever we are Called upon”. Girinya noted.

The Commandant Commended the Minister of the federal Capital Territory, His Excellency, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike for his Support which has enabled the Command to discharge it function with ease .

” The Fct Minister has been very helpful to us, as at last year, he donated 60 Motorbikes and Six Hilux Patrol Van to the Command ,One for each Area Councils in the Federal Capital Territory”.

GC Girinya Called for the inclusion of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria in the federal Capital Territory’s Security Meetings, as it would also enable them to have Some Privilege information that would assist the group in Combating Crime in the Nation’s Capital, he opined.

He appealed to the FCT Minister to sustain it Support for the group, even as he also solicited for Motivational Packages that would encourage Personnel of the Security outfit to be more Committed, adding that their Service over the years has been Voluntary without any financial inducement, he said.

He applauded Navy Captain Umar Bakori (RTD) the National Chairman/ Commander General, Vigilante Group of Nigeria for his frantic and tireless efforts in ensuring the Continued existence of the group in the faces of mountainous Challenges, also pledging his loyalty and Support to his leadership.
