Giant Strides of Makinde on Transport System in Oyo

Seven years down the line since assumption of duty of Engr Seyi Makinde as Governor of Oyo State, alot of investment into the transport system of the state that had modernized the sector had been put in place .
Aside providing a conducive environment for transportation system to thrive through the public private partnerships PPP, Makinde developed a long term template to resolve incessant poor transport system in oyo state.

Through a robust blueprint of modern transportation system, the administration in the last seven years has put in place with the construction of modern terminals to address the growing risks attached to patronizing commercial vehicles along the roads, with insecurity characterised with movement of goods , services, and people in the state.
Before now, the rowdy atmosphere transporters, commuters indulged in their activities has been reduced to the barest minimum due to the provision and construction of a modern and model bus terminals across the state capital and to be replicated across the state.
The construction of a modern and standard business terminals which included the Iwo road bus terminal and introduction of the Park Management System (PMS) facilitated ease of doing business and also opened up the chapter of a modern bus and transport system in Oyo state.
With the security of lives and properties is at the front burner of the present administration of Seyi Makinde, the desire for serene environment, organized activities both in the state capital, local government areas encouraged the provision of the new movement system.
However, the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde through the new order has improved urban transport system, power , enhanced security, including the Improved night time activities of Ibadan, the state capital and it’s environs.
The solid foundation convened by the Seyi Makinde led administration in the last seven years after over six decades presence of government both of the old western region and the creation of the state will attract both local , foreign and private sector contributions not only to the modernisation of the state capital, but across the state.
With the new order, sanity in the transport system, the state is attracted to other sector development in all areas of the state and the neighboring lagos and Oyo State.
Considering the status of oyo state as the gateway to many states of the country, the development of the transport system and daily exodus of human and vehicular movements cannot be over emphasized.
Having laid a good template for the transport system in oyo state , it is expected to have multiplier effects on other sectors and services and the need for continuity going forward.
The new transportation system established in the state will create an enabling environment for provision of buses , high capacity buses to ply the state and its environs.
Aside establishing a robust system of transportation in oyo state, it is obvious that when elected as Nigeria’s President in 2027, the politicaly motivated transport system prevalent in the country will become a thing of the past.
