Gov Ododo Attends Official Commissioning, Handing Over of Police Divisional Headquarters in Imane

The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, graced the Official commissioning and handover of the Police Divisional Headquarters in Imane, Olamaboro Local Government Area, earlier today.

This state-of-the-art edifice, constructed by a distinguished son of the community, Dr. Ibrahim Alih, was formally transferred to the Kogi Command of the Police Force, Imane Division, to serve the critical function of maintaining law and order. The ceremony witnessed a robust attendance of government officials, the state Commissioner of Police, senior security personnel, traditional rulers, and numerous sons and daughters of the Imane community, among others.

The Governor was represented by his Deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu.

In his remarks, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo reaffirmed his unshakable commitment to fostering a secure and safe environment for the people of the state. He noted that the current administration has exhibited a zero tolerance stance against crime and criminality, evidenced by the provision of standardized operational vehicles, adequate support and resources, and the establishment of a forward operation base in Bagana. He reiterated that the safety and well-being of the people remain paramount.

He called for synergy between private citizens and security agencies to cultivate a safer and more secure environment for the people, while commending the donor for his commendable commitment to complementing the government’s efforts in improving the security infrastructure within the state, describing the gesture as both generous and patriotic.

The Governor implored all residents of the area to extend their support to the Police Force and other allied security agencies, fostering a united front towards ensuring that Olamaboro and the entire state remain safe and peaceful.

Earlier in his address, the benefactor of the Imane Police Divisional Headquarters, Dr. Ibrahim Alih, emphasized that the facility is designed to enhance security, improve response times, and fortify the relationship between the community and the police force. He characterized the structure as a testament to the community’s collective resolve to construct a safer and more prosperous society.

In his remarks, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, represented by the State Commissioner of Police, CP Miller Dantawaye, acknowledged the myriad opportunities that the new police station presents, ranging from modern facilities and advanced equipment to the dedicated team of officers assigned to man the station. He affirmed that the force is now better equipped to confront the security challenges facing the area.

He lauded the benefactor for his commendable support to the Command, which he stated will serve as a beacon of peace and development for the Imane community.

This edifice, constructed by Dr. Ibrahim Alih, will undoubtedly provide a conducive environment for the police force to operate effectively and maintain law and order within the community. It will also serve to bridge the gap between the police and the public, fostering a healthy relationship conducive to effective community policing. Furthermore, it complements the state government’s efforts in ensuring adequate security for the people to live and carryout businesses.
