Gov Ododo Swears In New Commissioner for Livestock Development with a Charge to Excel

By Abah Benjamin Eneojoh
Government House, Lokoja

August 8, 2025.

In a bold move to diversify the state’s economy and unlock new opportunities for growth, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has sworn in Dr. Olufemi Bolarin as the new Commissioner for Livestock Development.

The ceremony, which took place today at the State Executive Council Meeting in Lokoja, was a credit to the governor Ododo’s commitment to developing the state’s agricultural sector.

Governor Ododo, in his charge to the new commissioner, emphasized the importance of innovation and commitment in driving the livestock industry forward. He expressed confidence that Dr. Bolarin’s track record of dedication and service would be instrumental in harnessing the vast resources in the sector. The governor’s vision for the Ministry of Livestock Development is clear: to create jobs, ensure food security, and expand opportunities for rural communities.

The governor urged the new commissioner to work closely with stakeholders, including farmers, herders, and investors, to unlock the sector’s full potential.

Dr. Bolarin expressed gratitude to Governor Ododo for the opportunity to serve in his cabinet. He promised to discharge his duties with diligence and commitment, working tirelessly to achieve the administration’s goals. The Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Mrs. Folashade Ayoade Arike, congratulated Dr. Bolarin, urging him to believe in the core value of togetherness to achieve the aims of the present administration.

As the new commissioner embarks on his journey, one thing is clear: the livestock industry in Kogi State is on the cusp of a new era of growth and development.
