Represented by his Deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu, the Governor emphasized that science and technology are crucial for unlocking potentials in today’s world.

He underscored that Kogi State is rich in both human and mineral resources, urging all stakeholders in the technology sector to engage in partnerships with the government to fully capitalize on these opportunities.

Governor Ododo encouraged all partners and collaborators in the technology industry to exploit the vast opportunities available in Kogi State to establish industries and companies. He reassured them that the state provides a conducive and secure environment for investments.
He emphasized that the future of young Kogi citizens hinges on skills and education.

Acknowledging that Nigeria, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is leveraging technology to tap into vast global opportunities, Governor Ododo confirmed that Kogi State is actively participating in this technological advancement.

He mentioned that all government departments, agencies, and ministries are incorporating technology into their daily operations.

The Governor highlighted that this year’s government bursary program received over fifty thousand applications, the highest number since its inception, attributing this success to the use of technology which helps eliminate fraudulent practices and ensures equal opportunities for all applicants.

He also pointed out that technology has significantly contributed to the enhanced fight against insecurity.

Governor Ododo further revealed that student data from primary to tertiary institutions are securely stored in a technological database, simplifying data and information security.

In her keynote address, the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Dr. Mrs. Folashade Arike Ayoade, expressed gratitude to the governor for establishing the Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology, describing it as a positive step in the right direction.

She emphasized that the state is open to partnering with technology stakeholders for innovation and economic growth, advocating for public-private partnerships to foster improved economic development.

Dr. Ayoade urged all experts to provide mentorship and guidance to support entrepreneurs, thereby increasing the number of entrepreneurs in Kogi State. She advised them not to view new and emerging entrepreneurs as competitors but rather as individuals contributing to the sector’s development in Kogi State.
She encouraged participants to motivate youths to embrace skills, highlighting its viability compared to traditional salaried employment.
