Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has emphasized the need for concerted efforts between government, parents, and religious bodies to restore family values in society.
According to the press statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim and posted on his Facebook page, the governor made the call during the 44th anniversary celebration of Living Faith Church Worldwide at its Minna headquarters.
The governor expressed concern over the erosion of family values, which he believes has led to intolerance and other vices negatively impacting society. He pledged to continue supporting the church and Christendom, encouraging the church to participate in his agricultural agenda by owning a farm.
Governor Bago announced a N50 million donation to the church and promised to construct road networks within the church premises. The Resident Pastor of Living Faith Minna, Pastor Anso John Dominion, appreciated the governor’s support and assured him of the church’s continuous prayers for his administration.
Various dignitaries, including the Deputy Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly and special advisers, commended the governor for his support for Christians in the state and pledged their support for his policies aimed at improving the state.
