According to the Governor, I received the shocking news and I must say is quite shocking because,I had began to know Professor Izam,we were in University at the same time ,he was in the sciences and i was in law and our parts didn’t cross,is only when he stepped down as a vice Chancellor,he paid me a visit and we began to know ourselves. I was so happy that we have such a brilliant man amongst us ,then I was hoping sooner or later we will found him useful in one capacity or the other but,God had other plan and we have to accept the reality.
This shows the unpredictability of life.
Today you are alive tomorrow, you are no more.
Mutfwang said that’s a lesson to all of us to always take life easy.
The Governor noted that when Jesus sent his disciples on evangelism, they went out casting demons and returned rejoicing, but Jesus reminded them that yes,it is good to performed such miracles, but it is more important that your names are written in the book of life.
This underscores the need for us to use moments like this to ask God to help us to number our days and apply our hearts to wisdom.
Said the Governor,I wish I know the day my own will come, but unfortunately,I don’t and known of us does.
Certainly,we have loss an illustrious son of Plateau State and some of these shoes are very difficult to fill, but again, I want to use this opportunity to encourage our young people that Late Prof. Yohana Izam rose to the position of a Professor due to his diligence and hardworking.
He paid the price of pains to go through the University and you need to emulate him, please don’t waste your life, let your life count for something.
I pray God will comfort the entire family.
Responding on behalf of the Family and Afizere Nation, President of the Afizere Cultural and Community Development Association (ACCDA), Engineer Yakubu Ashom, thank the Governor for identifying with them at the moment of grief.
According to the Community Leader,it is a big loss that they cannot quantify, but who are we to question God for what has happened? God choose on whom to take at the time he wants to take and everybody has his own time and that means we must be ready.
